The Aboriginal Students’ Centre (ASC) can help you liaise with funding agencies, apply for awards and apply for student loans.
Aboriginal students must contact their bands directly to apply for band funding. If you have questions about applying for funding offered by your band or tribal council, contact your high school or post-secondary counsellor in your school or community.
Thousands of scholarships, bursaries and awards are awaiting U of S students, and many are designated specially for students of aboriginal ancestry.
The U of S administers a wide variety of awards for entering students that you can search for online. To search for awards aimed specifically at aboriginal students, choose “Members of an Equity Group” from the drop-down Category menu in the Awards Search database.
