General Requirements for all Programs

Atestāts par vispārējo vidējo izglītību (Certificate of General Secondary Education) is required for admission to all programs. If you have completed more than 18 credit units of transferable credit units from an accredited post-secondary institution, your admission will be based on your postsecondary studies.

Early Admission

You may apply for admission in the year you will graduate if you submit your transcript from the previous year and a list of courses you are currently completing. Conditional admission may be granted in these circumstances.

Transfer Credit

The University of Saskatchewan considers courses from accredited institutions around the world for transfer credit. Generally, credit is awarded on a course-by-course basis for courses equivalent to those taught at the University of Saskatchewan. When you apply for admission we will review all education history for admission and transfer credit. Your year of study and program requirements are determined by each college.

College-Specific Requirements

In addition to the general requirement, you must present required subjects and have achieved a competitive average for your college of choice.

A 5-subject admission average is calculated for each applicant based on the following criteria:

  • Latvian Language and/or Literature
  • Mathematics

Plus a combination of:

  • Maximum 2 humanities or social science subjects
  • Maximum 2 natural science subjects
  • Maximum 1 fine arts subject

          The top 100+ qualified applicants were admitted after the application deadline (approximate average of 8.7)
          1. You may be admitted to some programs with a deficiency. Business, Industrial arts, and technical education subjects are not acceptable for admission.
          2. Admission averages shown here correspond to a 4 to 10 point pass-scale. The competitive averages should be used as a guideline, and do not guarantee admission.
          3. Generally, senior level mathematics curriculum offered in Latvia fulfills the Calculus requirement for the College of Engineering, but course outlines may be required.
