Best and Brightest Scholarships

Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships, valued up to $40,000, are awarded based on academics and/or leadership and contributions to school and community life. 

The application for Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships contains five of uSask’s highest valued, renewable scholarships:

  • George and Marsha Ivany President’s First & Best Scholarships: students must be graduating from a Canadian high school and proceeding directly from high school to university.  A minimum average of 95% is required. Applicants must submit the Description of Leadership and Extra-curricular Activities via the online application form. One George and Marsha Ivany President's First and Best Scholarship is a Circle of Honour award, which is preferentially awarded to an Aboriginal student.
  • Chancellors’ Scholarships: students must be graduating from a Canadian high school. Two Chancellors' Scholarships are Circle of Honour awards, which are preferentially awarded to Aboriginal students.
  • U of S Entrance Scholarships: students must be graduating from a Canadian high school and proceeding directly from high school to university. A minimum average of 95% is required.  Applicants must submit the Description of Leadership and Extra-curricular Activities via the online application form. Two U of S Entrance Scholarships are Circle of Honour awards, which are preferentially awarded to Aboriginal students.
  • Edwards Undergraduate Scholarships: open to students pursuing a Bachelor of commerce degree program in the Edwards School of Business.
  • College of Agriculture and Bioresources Renewable Entrance Scholarships: open to entering students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources.  All entering students, including international and out-of-province applicants, are eligible to apply. One award is designated for an Aboriginal student.

Apply for admission - by December 1

By December 1, complete the online application for admission, pay the application fee and ensure your transcript and other admission documents have been submitted to the Admissions Office.
Students enrolled in a Saskatchewan high school must request their transcript directly from the Ministry of Education.

Your new log-in ID and a temporary password for the PAWS web portal will be emailed to the address you verified on the application for admission within 2-3 business days. Log in to PAWS, update your password, and open the Scholarships and Bursaries channel to access the Best and Brightest Scholarships application.

Apply for Best and Brightest Scholarships - by December 15

By December 15, submit the online application for Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships.

  1. In the Scholarships and Bursaries channel of PAWS, click Apply for awards
    The second time you access the application form, select View or modify my award applications, rather than Apply for awards.
  2. Select Award Year: 2017-2018 and Award Period: Fall and Winter Terms
  3. Choose the Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships application form
