Greystone Scholars Recognition Program

As a high-achieving high school student, you may be eligible for the Greystone Scholar Recognition Program!

Benefits of this program include:

  • offer of a $3000 Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship
  • access to exclusive programming during your Grade 12 year to prepare you for life as a U of S student
  • membership in Club Greystone, a student group made up of all Greystone Scholars at the U of S that exists to help ease the transition from high school to university for first-year Greystone Scholars. Club Greystone also actively volunteers in the larger Saskatoon community, providing tutoring at local high schools, and is a vibrant social club as well, offering its members the opportunity to make friends and get involved. You will find Greystone Scholars in almost every discipline at the U of S and access to advice and mentorship from these diverse, high-achieving individuals is a resource not to be missed.

How Can I Be Considered?

Nominations for the Greystone Scholars Recognition Program are no longer required! You need only follow our Steps to Apply and you will automatically be considered.

Who Is Eligible?

The Greystone Scholars Recognition Program is for students who achieve an admission average of 95% or higher

  • See how we calculate an admission average and view the classes that we can use for an admission average calculation.  Please note that for current high school students who apply and submit necessary documentation before February 15th, the Grade 11 equivalents of these subjects can be used for the first average calculation.

Consideration for membership in the Greystone Scholars Recognition Program conforms to the “Best of Three” average calculation policy we follow for Guaranteed Entrance Scholarships.  Current Grade 12 students who wish to be considered using the marks for courses they completed during their Grade 11 year should apply for admission, pay the application fee, and submit a preliminary statement of marks before February 15th.

Grade 12 students who apply for admission or who submit the necessary documents (including the application fee and a preliminary statement of marks) after February 15th or students who have already graduated from high school will only be considered for the Greystone Scholars Recognition Program using Grade 12-level subjects.

When Will I Find Out If I've Been Admitted As A Greystone Scholar?

After you have submitted an application for admission, the application fee, and a preliminary statement of marks, you will be considered for admission and for a Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship, as well as membership in the Greystone Scholars Recognition Program.  If you meet the admission requirements of the college to which you’ve applied, you will be sent a letter via the postal mail informing you of your admission to the U of S and of your eligibility for a Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship of an amount related to your admission average. If your admission average had been calculated at 95% or higher, your letter will contain a welcome to the Greystone Scholars Recognition Program and notification of your eligibility for the $3000 Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship that Greystone Scholars are eligible to receive.

If you are not currently eligible for the Greystone Scholars Recognition Program and are instead offered a Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship of a different amount, this information will be contained in your letter instead.  We will recalculate your average using Grade 12 classes completed up to Semester One of Grade 12 and again using Grade 12 classes completed up to graduation.   If your average increases to 95% or higher for either of these two calculations, you will be reconsidered for the Greystone Scholars Recognition Program and will be notified in a separate letter if you become eligible.
