Spanish - Minor

Minor or Concentration
A minor or other concentration, such as an option or specialization, is a secondary set of courses that can be completed as you earn a degree in your major area of study.

Thinking about spicing up your program, giving an edge to your degree and obtaining a valuable skill that will accompany you for life? Then you should take a minor in Spanish. It’s only 24 credit units, which you can take while completing a major in another discipline.  A Spanish minor is a good choice and can be combined with several degrees: history, political studies, international studies, sociology, commerce, and so on. Knowing Spanish, a language that is spoken in over 20 countries as their mother tongue, can open new study, job and career opportunities as it will provide an international dimension to your academic endeavours.

Take Spanish and have fun while learning this romance language. We will teach you Spanish from scratch and take you to a level where you will be confident speaking, writing, comprehending and reading Spanish. Once you learn Spanish, you can use it for your career (there are many Canadians working in Spanish speaking countries such as Guatemala, Honduras and Peru, or studying the history, economy, or a social aspect of a country such as Mexico or Chile), for your holidays (Spain is a world destination for tourists) or even for your retirement, as there are many Canadians who retire in a Spanish speaking country!

Learning Spanish is a wise decision and we can teach you the ins and outs of this world language.
