Co-op Programs, Internships and Work Experience
Many U of S programs offer optional internships, co-operative programs or work experiences, which allow you to combine classroom learning and community experience. Programs are offered to students following the completion of their first year of study, but most are something to look forward to taking in the later years of degree programs.
Agriculture and Bioresources
- The College of Agriculture and Bioresources has many exciting course offerings that allow students to get their hands dirty during their studies. - Chemistry
Gain practical experience in chemistry by joining an active research program at the University of Saskatchewan for the summer!
- Computer Science Professional Internship Program
Obtain 12 or 16 months of practical on-the-job training experience with a sponsoring company such as Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Environment Canada, IBM, SMART Technologies Inc. and the University of Saskatchewan, just to name a few!
- Economics Career Internship Program
Graduate from your economics program with the advantage of practical work experience with companies within the community of Saskatoon.
- English
Explore one of the vast options of an English grad by participating in the Career Internship seminar offered to students in the honours program! Current placements include such activities as assisting with the editing of the academic journal Essays on Canadian Writing, learning about the operation of the University Library and working with the Saskatchewan Literarcy Network.
- Geography Co-operative Education Program
Find work placement related to environmental studies, regional and urban development, planning and geography. A flexible program offered to students of various backgrounds and can be set up with partnership organizations according to the student’s interest.

Apply for an exciting summer opportunity to collaborate in a research project with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Undergraduate Summer Research Award.

Choose from several different internship opportunities, such as parliamentary experience in Ottawa, to advance your political studies education.

Kinesiology
- Dive into community involvement with one of the several practicum opportunities offered by the College of Kinesiology! Kinesiology practicum programs are fourth classes that are available as electives to students. Interested in physical rehabilitation? Check out the practicum involving cardiac rehab for pre-diabetic, post-stroke or post cardiac incident clients. The Athlete Health Practicum is perfect for those Huskie fans that are interested in working as a student trainer for a team.
